How we keep reports useful when it matters most.

• Verified before posting

  People can view public reports without signing in. To submit, confirm, update or dispute a report, users must verify by phone or email.

• Timestamped reports

  Every report shows when it was posted or last updated. The age of the information is visible on the report card and map pin.

• Recent information matters most

  How Long's The Wait? is designed around changing conditions. Newer reports, recent confirmations and useful proof media can increase confidence. Old information loses weight automatically.

• Community confirmation

  Users can confirm whether a report is still accurate. They can also dispute reports that are wrong, unsafe or out of date.

• Updates preserve accountability

  Reports are not silently rewritten. When something changes, users add an update. This keeps a clearer record of what was said, when it was said and what changed later.

• Stale reports are downgraded

  Reports that are not refreshed are marked stale. This helps prevent old information from being mistaken for current information.

• Media supports confidence

  Photos and short videos can support a report, but they are not required for every update. Media is temporary by design and removed after a short period unless moderation requires it to be retained or removed sooner.

• No points, ranks or leaderboards

  Accuracy matters more than activity. The platform does not reward people for posting more than others.

• Moderation

  Unsafe, abusive or misleading content can be hidden or removed. Repeat abuse can lead to suspension.

• Paid tools do not influence emergency information

  Managed pages and organisation tools may help fund the platform, but paid features do not buy priority inside emergency, shortage or public-safety reports. Public information stays neutral.
